In my recent job roles I've been lucky enough to have been able to use my creativity to solve a number of problems. This is something I'm particularly interested in continuing so if you'd like to become a part of my portfolio of ideas get in touch.
Brief: To highlight the number of destinations available to York St John University students who wish to study abroad.
Having watched numerous students enter the International Office on a daily basis asking what destinations are possible for their course and then watch as their eyes dart around a map blue tacked to a wall and leave looking as if they didn't fully understand what they'd been told, I thought there must be an easier way. That's when I came up with the idea for an interactive map that shows the destinations and which courses were eligible. Utilising Google Maps, students can discover their study abroad options via their phone, tablet or computer.
Brief: Create a recognisable and fluid brand identity for Ulverscroft's new digital platform uLIBRARY.
In 2014 Ulverscroft Large Print launched their new digital eAudiobook app uLIBRARY. Two years later to help boost it's engagement amongst library users I was asked to create a brand identity that can be used to promote the service both online and in printed mediums like posters and other promotional items. I came up with the slogan Take Your Library Anywhere to highlight the service's mobility, allowing users to literary carry their library's audiobook collection in their pocket. This slogan has been used in posters, print advertisements and promotional items.
The slogan has also been used to highlight the range of titles available to users. With a wide depth spanning numerous genres with novels set around the world the uLIBRARY listener can be transported to a far and distant land without even needing a passport. All they need is their library card and a smartphone. I created a series of free posters as well as social media content to showcase this campaign.
